IC is a private, four-year liberal arts college. No, we’re not part of the State of Illinois university system. IC is a small, close-knit community, the kind of place where you will make lifelong friends with both fellow students and faculty.

We’ve been educating leaders since 1829, but along the way we have continually re-invented our curriculum, programs and facilities to keep current. You’ll find state-of-the-art facilities for science, fitness and recreation, and residential life. You’ll also find faculty who really love to teach, and experiential learning opportunities that will challenge you to gain skills and perspective outside the classroom.
